The death that he died, he died to sin, once for all;

Give ear to my words, O LORD; *
consider my
meditation.
Hearken to my cry for help, my King and my God, *
for
I make my prayer to you.
In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; *
early in
the morning I make my appeal and watch for you.
For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness,
*
and evil cannot dwell with you.
Braggarts cannot stand in your sight; *
you hate all
those who work wickedness.
You destroy those who speak lies; *
the bloodthirsty
and deceitful, O LORD, you abhor.
But as for me, through the greatness of your mercy I
will go into your house; *
I will bow down toward your holy temple
in awe of you.
Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness,
because of
those who lie in wait for me; *
make your way straight before me.
For there is no truth in their mouth; *
there is
destruction in their heart;
Their throat is an open grave; *
they flatter with
their tongue.
Declare them guilty, O God; *
let them fall, because
of their schemes.
Because of their many transgressions cast them out,
*
for they have rebelled against you.
But all who take refuge in you will be glad; *
they
will sing out their joy for ever.
You will shelter them, *
so that those who love your
Name may exult in you.
For you, O LORD, will bless the righteous; *
you will
defend them with your favor as with a shield.
LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger; *
do not punish
me in your wrath.
Have pity on me, LORD, for I am weak; *
heal me,
LORD, for my bones are racked.
My spirit shakes with terror; *
how long, O LORD, how
long?
Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; *
save me for your
mercy’s sake.
For in death no one remembers you; *
and who will
give you thanks in the grave?
I grow weary because of my groaning; *
every night I
drench my bed
and flood my couch with tears.
My eyes are wasted with grief *
and worn away because
of all my enemies.
Depart from me, all evildoers, *
for the LORD has
heard the sound of my weeping.
The LORD has heard my supplication; *
the LORD
accepts my prayer.
All my enemies shall be confounded and quake with fear;
*
they shall turn back and suddenly be put to shame.

A Reading from the Book of Exodus.
Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD: “I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; horse and rider he has thrown into the sea. The LORD is my strength and my might, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name. “Pharaoh’s chariots and his army he cast into the sea; his picked officers were sunk in the Red Sea. The floods covered them; they went down into the depths like a stone. Your right hand, O LORD, glorious in power— your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy. In the greatness of your majesty you overthrew your adversaries; you sent out your fury, it consumed them like stubble. At the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up, the floods stood up in a heap; the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea. The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil, my desire shall have its fill of them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.’ You blew with your wind, the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters. “Who is like you, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in splendor, doing wonders? You stretched out your right hand, the earth swallowed them. “In your steadfast love you led the people whom you redeemed; you guided them by your strength to your holy abode. The peoples heard, they trembled; pangs seized the inhabitants of Philistia. Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed; trembling seized the leaders of Moab; all the inhabitants of Canaan melted away. Terror and dread fell upon them; by the might of your arm, they became still as a stone until your people, O LORD, passed by, until the people whom you acquired passed by. You brought them in and planted them on the mountain of your own possession, the place, O LORD, that you made your abode, the sanctuary, O LORD, that your hands have established. The LORD will reign forever and ever.” When the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his chariot drivers went into the sea, the LORD brought back the waters of the sea upon them; but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground. Then the prophet Miriam, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dancing. And Miriam sang to them: “Sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.”

”I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; and the word that you hear is not mine, but is from the Father who sent me.
”I have said these things to you while I am still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I am coming to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it occurs, so that when it does occur, you may believe. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me; but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us be on our way.

are yours by
right, O Lord our God,
For you created everything that is, *
and by your
will they were created and have their being;
And yours by right, O Lamb that was slain, *

your blood you have redeemed for God,

And so, to him who sits upon the throne, *
and to

Be worship and praise, dominion and splendor, *

I believe in God, the Father
almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

He was conceived by the power of

Amen.
O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you; bring the nations into your fold; pour out your Spirit upon all flesh; and hasten the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Let us pray now for our own needs and those of others.
Almighty God, Father of
all mercies,
we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks
for
all your goodness and loving-kindness
to us and to all whom you
have made.
We bless you for our creation, preservation,
and all
the blessings of this life;
but above all for your immeasurable
love
in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for
the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
And, we pray, give us such
an awareness of your mercies,
that with truly thankful hearts we
may show forth your praise,
not only with our lips, but in our
lives,
by giving up our selves to your service,
and by walking
before you
in holiness and righteousness all our days;
through
Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit,
be
honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
